Delete your account
Last updated: 27 July 2026
There are two ways to delete your Paayos ToolBox account and the personal data attached to it: from inside the app, or by email if you have already uninstalled it or can no longer sign in. Both erase the same things.
Delete it yourself, in the app
This is the fastest route, and it applies to both apps — Paayos ToolBox for customers and Paayos ToolBox Pro for tradespeople.
- Open the app and tap Account in the top right of any screen.
- Tap Delete my account. The app shows you exactly what will be erased and what is kept before anything happens.
- Confirm with your password — a stolen phone should not be able to erase your account.
Deletion happens immediately, not after a waiting period, and it cannot be undone. Once it is done you cannot sign in again, and the email address you used is released, so you are free to sign up again from scratch.
If you have uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in
Email privacy@paayostoolbox.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. If you no longer have access to that address, write from any address and tell us which account you mean — we will ask you something only the account holder would know before we erase anything.
Send a deletion request — this opens your email app with the request already written.
We confirm by email once it is done, and in any case within 30 days of your request. There is no charge, and you do not have to give a reason.
What is erased
- Your email address, your phone number, and your password.
- If you are a tradesperson: your government ID, your trade licence, your portfolio photos, and your profile bio — removed from our database and deleted from the storage service that holds the image files.
- If you are a customer: the photos you attached to jobs you posted.
What is kept, and why
We would rather be exact than imply a clean erasure we cannot perform, because every record in a marketplace has two people in it. What stays is stripped of anything that identifies you:
- Payment records — retained for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- The jobs you were part of — equally the other party's history and their record of what they earned or paid. Your contact details and photos are stripped from them.
- Reviews you wrote about others — the rating and comment remain on that tradesperson's profile as part of their rating history, no longer connected to you.
- Messages you exchanged about a job — kept as part of that job's record, since they are the shared account of what was agreed, and no longer attached to an identifiable person.
In short: what remains is the shape of the transactions, with no way to tell who you were.
One thing has to wait
If you have a job in progress or a payment still held in escrow, we cannot delete the account yet — doing so would strand the other party mid-job and leave money in limbo. Finish or cancel the job, or contact us to resolve the payment, and the deletion will go through. The app names the job that is holding things up.
